Happy Sunday beauties! So, I usually spend my weekends crafting. I love to help friends and families with party decor especially candy stations and sweet tables! Today I am going to show you a really simple project that looks super fancy and is really cheap to do! Glitter glass jars!
Keep Reading after the jump!
All you will need to make this project is a bottle of modpodge (the Target dollar section usually has a small tube for $1!, a paint brush or something to spread the modpodge on the glass with, glitter of your choice, and tape/ string/ or a permanent marker! Oh, and the glass jar! This particular fish bowl looking jar I found at a local AC Moore but I have seen them at Walmart, Michael's, and even the Dollar Tree!
First things first, mark your jar with either tape, tie string around it, or draw a line with permanent marker. This is to ensure you get a straight edge on the glass and one side isn't higher than the other. You can do it in any shape or design you want. I personally like the bottom half to be decorated. Once you have your desired section marked off, go to town "painting" the modpodge on it. Then, simply pour some glitter on it (over a plate or something to catch the fall out... Unless you want a super sparkly floor). After it is coated hold it up to the light to see if you can find any areas that need some more coverage. Then, wait a about 5 min and pull the tape off (or string.. the marker should be covered). Flip it over and allow it to dry overnight! You can then add decorative ribbon or stick a label to it. I like to use this style jar for chocolate covered pretzels like below.
You can have so much fun doing this and it is so simple! Remember though, if you are doing a display, do not glitter-ize every jar or it will be overkill! Have fun with it! If you try this I want to see! Share with me in the comments or on my Facebook page! Have a wonderful Sunday!
xo, Christina
