Foodie Friday - Hello Fresh Review

Happy Foodie Fri-yay!

I promised this review a few weeks ago but for whatever reason YouTube was not cooperating. I finally got the video to post successfully!!

Quick review of what HelloFresh actually is. It's a food subscription box where you could skip a week before hand. There are different options as to what you get delivered. I picked the regular family box because we eat meat. There is an option to get 2 or 3 meals a week and I decided on 3. Each meal served 4 adults but you can stretch it out to feed more because the portion sizes are pretty large. It runs a little over $100 but if you use this referral code L6R3XJ , you will save $40 making your first order 65$ (for the 3 meal family box) including shipping. Keep reading after the jump to see what I liked and didn't like along with a video showing the meals :)

The delivery comes in a huge box that's roughly 15 pounds. In the box is a disposable cooler with 3 boxes on top. Each box has the ingredients for one meal and it's labeled on the outside. Underneath the boxes are a bunch of ice packs and the actual meats for your meals. A recipe book and coupons are also included.

What I love:
I love the convenience of it all. I can't tell you how many times I started a cooking a dish only to find out that I'm out of onions, vinegar, etc. This box eliminated that inconvenience. Everything you need is in the box (kitchen staples like salt are not included. Olive oil is not always included either but most people have that already. I will say, one time a tiny bottle of oil was sent and I thought it was the cutest thing. I'm a sucker for anything mini). The recipes are really simple to follow and pictures are included. You can preview future orders on the HelloFresh website and also pause a week if you won't be home or do not want to have a delivery for a while. I also love that recipes I don't usually make are sent. It adds variety to our weekly meals instead of the boring repeated dishes. The produce are extremely fresh. I was also able to have enough left over to make lunch as well as dinner to stretch the meals out a bit. It may sound expensive at first but when you actual sit down to break it down, you end up saving money :)

What I don't like:

I don't like that there is not an option to put in foods you do not particular care for. If there is, it's not really simple to find where or how to input the info. We have been lucky and enjoyed every meal so far but you never know what the future holds.

Overall, I give this subscription 2 thumbs up! Do you use HelloFresh? Let me know what you think!
Watch the video below to see how simple these meals were to create!

Stay beautiful from within!
XoXo, Chris
